BABEL-101

Poem Commentary

We have to know where we have come from in order to know where we are going and the Bible (God's Word) is the only source that tells it all from the very beginning.

BABEL-101

Looking back thousand’s of years in our past,

Mere century’s after Noah’s Flood’s huge storm-blast,

Was a time when man disobeyed God’s new command,

To disburse and spread over and replenish earth’s land.

This command had been given in “Our” own best interest,

To prevent a repeat of sin’s total subversiveness…

Like it was in the day’s before God sent forth the flood,

When every thought of man’s heart was of an evil construct.

So as men clave to themselves to create “Them” a name,

While the God of Creation received their distain,

They worshipped the stars and created their idol’s,

Of men, animals, and nature, with celestial recitals.

So God looked down and said: Let Us disperse this people,

Before sin’s proliferation makes All mankind evil,

Thus God forced into Exile by the drop of His gavel,

The confusion of Language so men started to Babel.

As different family’s could no longer commune with each other,

They would split up and move with their Father‘s and Mother‘s,

And settle new land’s, and found brand new nation’s,

With new culture’s and custom’s and hierarchical stations.

So as more family’s left and had to travel out farther,

They conquered more land as mankind grew larger,

And that’s just how All nation’s and country’s were founded,

From just eight on the Ark… All other people abounded.

Now to read for yourself this report from God’s Word,

Turn to the book of beginnings and be not deterred,

But starting in Genesis chapter’s One through Eleven,

Find early history recorded from God’s pen out of Heaven.

…The Beginning

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
