The Emancipated Man
Ah, the story of redemption
In man’s carnal minded search,
For the pleasures this world offers
In which he finds himself immersed.
Self medicating loneliness
In hedonistic style,
Of self gratified pursuit in life
Of all that God reviles.
Yet in loving fatherly affection
God sent His only Son,
To intervene on our behalf
In spite of all we’ve done,
To enter our humanity
And live a sinless life,
Be crucified in our place
Then 3 days later… Rise
To demonstrate the power He holds
In life now over death,
So when we place our trust in Him
We would have no doubts left,
But have faith in our Salvation
And then trust Him at His word,
That all He tells us in the Scriptures
Has or will occur.
And that now that we’ve been Born Again
We have Eternal Life,
We now are children of our God
Joint heirs of God with Christ.
Our names recorded up in heaven
In the Book of Life,
Our new destination’s heaven
Which is our new birthright.
No longer chasing pleasure
To fill that emptiness inside,
But enjoying all the treasures
That God has set aside,
That complete the missing pieces
In this puzzle we call life,
At one with our Creator
As our spirits now unite.
