    Poem Commentary

Who's been the running joke at my house for almost 40 years? The good sentry Who stands guard at our front door like those at Buckingham Palace, silent and statuesque and no matter what... never gets his feathers flustered.

    The Blame Game

    Who did that?!!!

    No… he’s too stoned.

    Who left this here?!

    No… he’s too stoned.

    Who took my keys?!

    No… he’s too stoned.

    Who left the light on?!

    No… he’s too stoned.

    Who broke this?!!!

    No… he’s too stoned.

Who forgot to put gas in the car?!

No… once again… he’s too stoned to drive.

Who has gotten blamed for a thousand other things these past 40 years?!!!

No… he couldn’t have, since he’s just a 55 lb. block of sedimentary limestone I sculpted into an owl years ago,

Yet people still blame him for every conceivable happenstance…

    Poor fellow… named…

    WHO

That's funny. There's always been a mantra in my house that's something like " If you want to know who's to blame, just asshole me!"

Who's to credit?, everyone that has made that joke at Who's expense all these years, and one talented friend named Train64 who inspired me to attempt something closer to prose than poetry. Blessings buddy, Whiskers.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
