    Poem Commentary

    I penned this way back in July of '93, and had no intentions of sharing it with world, but too many I know are dying from the same dreadful disease. To paraphrase the late Arthur Ashe who was once asked, if he would like for his legacy to be how great he was on the tennis court.. He promptly replied if what he achieved on the tennis court was his legacy, it wouldn't be much.. We share both the same sentiment, same birthday, same birthdate... Gone but never forgotten...May the peace and blessings of the Almighty be with him and them for always

    Arthus Ashe July 10, 1943-February 6th 1993

    What will my legacy be, compassionate or vanity

    If I lived a full life, whether I was rich or destitute.

    Only leaving things of feat or considered materialistic

    My life would have been one of indukgence in vanity

    To think any other way, would be overly optimistic

    One hundred years from now no one will really care

    Whether or not I was poor or lived like a millionaire

    Only thing of importance, if I’m even remembered

    Is this world is a better place because I was here?

    I'm still working at that I want mine to be?
