If I Could Ever Give Back To You
If I could give back to you no matter what it would be,
I would be satisfied because of all you’ve given me.
Dearest one, you were not just my lover and my friend
You were lifeblood that flowed through my veins
Being a vital part of me, the price was very steep
Cost never mattered, in that which is seldom cheap
You hung in there, believed in my hopes and dream
You hung in there, believed in my hopes and dream
When walking away would’ve been the easiest thing
Yet, you put yours on hold, to always be at my side
Step for step together, you never missed a stride
Though I shall never be able to repay you in kind
It is not for me to say if I should ever stop trying.
To give back part of all that you have given me,
I would gladly do it, matters not what it might be.
