A Book Of Rhymes
Wanted to write a poetry book
To see if I had what it took
Started first with free verse
Things went from bad to worse
words didn’t seem to cluster
Which only made me fluster
would have been easy to quit
But decided to stick with it
Then I thought of rhyming
Knowing it took good timing
Of poetry’s many schemes
To match my heartfelt themes
AA-BB, A-B, A-B.
Seemed one's right for me
Now that the book is complete
It’s an inspirational treat
I can’t call myself a poet
The triteness will show it
Yet writing thoughts in rhymes
Was well worth my the time
