Chrysalis
N
o one should live in human cocoon
Had an epiphany a chrysalis I'd become
Gone was the excitement I knew in youth
Became quietly affixed in predictability
Denied or deprived the joys of simplicity
A picnic in the park or a day at the beach
The smell of food on grills everywhere
The sounds of music and laughter in the air
Needed to evolve from that chrysalis stage
Sprout wings and learn to fly
From the epiphany in chrysalis
To the metamorphosis of a butterfly
The changes that took place in perceptibility From those in the confines of predictability To the uncertainty of willing to take risks No longer concerned with consequences I am free once more to do even childlike things wouldn’t bother me to play naked in the streets Which I would do it and do it gracefully What a joy to escape from the cocoon state A beautiful a butterfly
