what A Journey It's Been
When our journey began, no idea where it would lead.
Threw caution to the wind left nature to proceed.
In nurturing our friendship, feelings grew within.
Didn't take long, we were more than friends
Once our relations transitioned, the physical sense
That we felt inside, grew even more intense.
There were the good times we lived loved and laughed
Not for one moment we thought they wouldn’t last
We did the good things that give love a chance
walks along the beach, dined danced and romanced.
We went every place, did every thing together
feeling which we wished would last forever.
Then came our sad times, things between us changed
the world we knew, was slowly being rearranged
We reached a crossroad, to decide what route to take
Preserve the friendship left or make a clean break.
Choices aren’t that simple, I’ve come to discover
How do we go back to friends, once we were lovers.
Memories in my mind make it hard to absolve
how two lovers once can that easily dissolved
It's one of those feelings I must reconcile
It must admit this is going to take a while.
In my conceding of you as a friend again
My heart sighs; what a journey it has been.
