The Battle That Wages
There’s a battle waging
within my very soul.
Between doing what’s right,
and that which I’m told.
Should I cede to the voices,
that of my screaming peers,
or heed the ones of inner self,
As decision time nears?
If when the battle is over
And the victor has been claimed
should I ask the obvious question;
Did I do the right thing?
If my soul is not content
Where shall I lay the blame?
The feet that of my peers
Or will it be mine to claim.
