What Happens Then
When our journey began, had no idea where it would lead.
We threw caution to the wind and started to proceed.
In nurturing our relationship, other feelings grew within
We were on our way to lovers instead of being friends
From such innocent beginning is how it all got started
We even remained lovers, up until the day we parted
There were the good times we lived loved and laughed
In our hearts we must've felt, those time would never past
We did all the wonderful things which lovers should do
I thought the sun rose everyday, for me to look at you
Sad times often follows happy times, things begin to change
The happiness we once knew, lost in meaningless things
We came upon a crossroad, deciding for the other's sake
Time had come in our relationship to make a clean break.
The only option left open wwe should become best friends
Would it be a good idea, and could we ever transcend
Choices aren’t so simple in transitioning from one to another
Can two really become friends, after they've been lovers.
When ex-lovers out with each other will new loves understand
Or ex-lovers out with new lovers, will ex-lovers remain friends
Among the many other things, ex-lover have to think about
Can one accept the other as a friend beyond reasonable doubt
Will old feelings die hard letting them not get beyond the past?
Making it almost impossible for this new friendship to last
Will the two of them in final resignation call the other friend
Once they've settled into the friendship, what happens then.
