Prescience
Prescience
( PRESH-ee-unss )
Peering into the night sky one sees many things
The fire, smoke and soot that the future here brings
Looking deeper and deeper into a pool of still waters
We see visions of mayhem and more needless slaughters
Man's path on Earth is perilous, his future is bleak
He continues to stumble, mistake after mistake
Man's reign here may soon come to an end
As the more he struggles upward the further he descends
He seems incapable of seeing his path of destruction
The material side of life a constant seduction
Unable to learn from the past and ignoring the future
He leaves the wounds open, never applying the suture
Mankind grows weaker and weaker with each passing day
Withering like flowers in an unattended bouquet
So looking into the future we can see Earth's barren crust
And a world without man who has now crumbled to dust
