Angels Without Wings
On the other side of the tracks in Heaven
Dwell the angels without wings
They accept their fate without question
As they must think of higher things
Although gifted with flight they are not
They do not feel downtrodden
As angels duties are far to vast
And they must bear the heavy burden
And so they toil in the shadows of wings on high
With an occasional upward glance
For to soar so high in the endless sky
Is possible only in a mystical trance
Events of long ago forever sealed their fate
Something definitely went awry
On a starry night you may view their tears
As shooting stars in the distant sky
Although sadness sometimes floods their minds
Pity is not the thing they seek
They set an example for all to see
From Heavens highest peak
In life as in heaven all must accept their lot
Angels without wings are no exception
So take heed of the lesson revealed to you
And don’t fall prey to the Devil’s deception
For if you do beware of the fate it brings
There are far worse things than the mere absence of wings
