Political Change?
Mid-term elections are upon us and the media is screaming
That if we think the Democrats will hold we must be dreaming
The Republicans are smirking and rubbing their hands
In anticipation of taking control and stating their demands
They say they are sure they can clean up this mess
Even though their only plan is to punt and regress
Both Progressives and Tea-party candidates are hopeful
All clamoring for votes by spreading more bull
We look through glazed-over eyes at the election stage
Seeing what appears to be just more political road rage
Back room planning is underway to preserve the plutocracy
And to make the citizens think that it is really democracy
But we know better; at least I hope we do
Even though the following most likely will continue to hold true
No matter what results the next election may bring
You can damn well be sure it won’t change a thing.
