The Night Stalker
The shadowy figure stalks the night
with ease and cat like grace.
Gleaming steel in his scabbard
An eerie smile upon his face.
The speed with which he moves
creates a silent cloud of dust.
His passing only known to the
creatures that dwell beneath the crust.
He fords the river in one bound.
No reflection does he cast.
He leaves no trail to follow.
Not one sign that he has passed.
His eyes glow red and seem
to see the prey he seeks ahead.
His hand draws forth his trusty sword
to prepare it to be fed.
His mind races as he nears.
The frenzy building with each stride.
The prey a slender woman.
Adding fuel to his rising tide.
Her eyes open as he raises his sword.
He has her totally at bay.
Until her slender hand brings forth the gun
and blows his ass away.
The moral to this story
is that stalkers should be forewarned
She may look innocent and weak
But she damn well may be armed.
