Choices
The sweetness of life I’ve tasted
With opportunities sometimes wasted
Many friends have come and gone
Some passing some moving on.
Life is a sea of choices
Presented in various voices
The path we choose a role of the dice
Rarely presented to us twice
We forge ahead as best we can
As if we had a foolproof plan
Yet fate will play a major role
And ultimately seize control
So are we adrift in a churning sea
Our lives just meaningless debris?
Or are we capable of so much more
If we allow our spirits to rise and soar?
The answer lies deep within each soul
Waiting patiently to assume its role
So reach inside yourself and say
Who shall I be this brand new day?
Shall I satisfy my own selfish needs?
Or shall I rise to far greater deeds?
