Mushroom Cloud
Cumulunombus:
Water painted night sky
Saints and Gods floating by
The mansions in the night
Divine poison ivy walking the walls
Mushrooms and Flowers
Blooming colors of blood
Blue and Red
The sentiment of antidotes
Alter egos and enemies
Pennies and Nickels
Just strictly stars
Under tones of hearts
Spades and diamonds
Kings and Queens
Life is but a dream
Of chess boards checkered
Black and red
Reducing reactions falling apart
Some things are best left un-said
The sadness of sadism
Maidens of memories
Medicate me mellow yellow
Pink and purple
Cotton and cardboard
The small cottage of the big city
Calm and quiet
It's not quite midnight
According to my palms
I open the black leathery book
To chapter 3 in Psalms
and begin singing
Verse after verse
Under this curse of clouds
Crumbling above, pretty night of love
From the belly of an ambulance
Screaming sirens
To the thorax of a hearst
All dressed black with silence
Wrapped behind curtains
I look up at the night sky
Once more before I head inside
I will hold my head high
For the rest of my life
Color with white crayons
Clouds and celing fans
Until my eyes drain, then dry
As my hands become wrinkled with time
I promise this is the last time.
