Little Boy Forever
Cotton candy clouds, a candle light sun across the crayon canyon, firefly stars, cardboard cars with record wheels spinning music from the sky’s paper airplanes bass. Just drifting by so sweet like strawberry jam flowing from a chocolate mountain. Such a beautiful disaster losing touch with reality, a lost sense of gravity. Porcelain plates in mid-air, a train of thought I tend to taste. Toy trains I ride along to a far away place with no tracks. The magic boy pushes me along saying Vroom Vroom! I call him God in this room of murals, hanging mobiles, and cartoon mirrors. Take me outside to emerald fields, peeling my eyelids open to something real like a painting on a movie reel. Look around, boxed buildings, chalked rivers, ruby red rocks that talk from black holes and say this way, no this way. Rocking back and forth in my boat made of clay, I change shape with a touch. I’m the captain here, what I say is, no matter what they say. Little boy forever, that will be the day, until then I’ll wait for the night signs, directions to dreamland. My reality, my way of escape, my goodbye.
