the wedding ghost
<>if you listen unfettered and closely
you can hear the tears fall at your wedding
a failed union remembered morosely
in returned toasters, knives and bedding
those that miss you and need you back
have scraped and scratched your box black
as you walk through all of these rooms
those hot and cold memories blue consume
there are cars in your driveway headlights aflame
their broad rooftops all wet with rain
as you walk though all of these rooms
so do remnants of hatred, sorrow and fear
and those who've conspired
and do not want you here
the wedding ghost
