Poem Commentary

i burst into tears as i finished this poem. unfortunately, i was in a bookstore and had to run into the bathroom to pull myself togeher again lol cancer was unholy and completely ablaze, but i must admit, it brought with it some lessons and insight.

malaise

<>

i walked that line on the brink
i looked in the mirror and cried in the sink
my hands were all over my head
                    holding in my sanity

tears were serviced best at night
and couldn't be heard in the dark without light

no cameras or lightning flashes
when you have no eyebrows to raise
or lashes

lost is vanity as i recoiled
my stomach spoiled
and my face in the toilet

cancer was a wolf at my throat
and a worm in brain

Somber thoughts. Reflections on man;s frailty, battles fought daily, flesh weak as tears seep down from eyes .Pain. Another day of cleansing, living to fight again. Blessings to you. When my words fail I can only respond in poetry.

Wow the reader can just see you there in the bathroom, and feel your weary, overwhelming, need for it to be over. The pain adn the being so tired of it all.....you know you are a poet when you can make the reader feel, good or bad, it is no matter. In that you create, and in that you bring to light emotions that would otherwise not have been there. Well done. Write on...........Tempestlady

wow. thank you so much for understanding as i wasn't going to include this one. it is direct. it is honest and dark but had a favourable outcome.

My hands were all over my head/holding in my sanity. This is such a powerful account of the battle you are fighting, I hesitated to check off that I like this poem. So well done, it had me in tears. If your inner strength and faith is as strong as your writing, you will be victorious. God bless you, my friend.

thank you for such a wonderful comment. i have been writing about the battle i went through and the war i just won :)

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
