skin
<>she's grown a thick skin
believing like leather
keeps in the sin
shields from the weather
and all of her shades and razor blades
return to roost with different names
hatred, hates us and ugly, upset
nothing cuts, stings or stains like regret
the vicious, the victims, had their reasons
for falling like leaves before their seasons
now all of those names and rains of disdain
flood her cellars spinning pool of pain
she's grown a thick skin
believing like leather
keeps in the sin
shields from the weather
