    Poem Commentary

    This is a heart-broken poem about my brother who passed away from Covid 19. My brother contracted the virus while he was living in a nursing home here in New Jersey. There was no funeral service because of lockdown. We had him cremated and there was a small blip about him in the paper. He lives in my heart and I miss him.

    today you are worthy of newsprint news
    scratched down in a paragraph
    some newsprint blues 
    your final script, your passion your rage
    tucked between editorial and the funny page 
    and all of the people you've left behind 
    will read your tribute amazed to find 
              how they made you so small 
    oh, they do it a way trying not to shame us 
    and for this definitive defining moment
    you are famous.

    My sincerest condolences...my heart go out to you and your family...I know I have no words that could convey and kind of relief for you...but the words you have chosen here are both chilling and hauntingly familiar...I remain a fan...
