    Poem Commentary

fighting to stay alive.....dying to rise up....but rising, ever slowly.

    satellites

    !

i tried to self destruct and totally burn out
    just throw it all away
i am indestructible, it turns out

i can't just leave the stage
not right in the middle of the game
    even the biggest, baddest dogs
    have their wounds to lick
    even the sharpest knives
can become victim to it's width

    the angels on my shoulders
    battle demons
from my dark world of hate and fun

    the snakes in my stomach
continue to hide from the sun
    and i
walk this walk with iron feet
rusted and dragged along the concrete street

you can see me, maybe even feel me
    scraping by
    but you can't be me
    that is my job

Dude, after losing myself for a year I am glad this is the first thing i let the oel' eyeballs stumble upon. And not that I am one to follow but I do agree this has a very lyrical quality and I can hear it while I read. Um, so, yeah...nice job.

Kind of powerful in the turmoil that I felt coming from this write...as if one could see the hurt beneath the cuts...but it also has strength in survival...a great write my friend...Cher

I imagine this poem as a song with a really industrial, heavy beat. It's actually really cool! Nice work!

thank you very much. i loved the old industrial sound, i miss it.

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.
