the fog
a heavy fog descends
casting a grey haze
trapping all the light within
with no means of escape
the fog seems to lurk and breathe
scattered whispers spread
in slow motion is seems to move
a silent creeping death
the fog grows ever so dense
as it suffocates the light
the darkness becomes even more intense
as the light begins to die
a spreading death consuming all
its path is not direct
no exception does it take
no light i will eject
as the light is falling dead
within the darkened grasp
across the night the fog has spread
i hear a whispered laugh
an eerie silence falls across the night
the darkness settles in
into the haze the light has died
the fog has won again
