luna~tic
a break in the clouds reveals an eerie glow
the moon shatters the darkness of the night
as the clouds part to show their respect
in the darkness of a room
a shadow moves
bathed in the moonlight
shining through a barred window
eyes cast in the color of evil
the wind gives life to the motionless trees
animating their exaggerated arms
marionettes on invisible strings
the moon brings the night to life
horror stalks the living earth
a screaming howl
rips through the air and
the night recoils
a whisper of fear dances across the wind
the world cautious of the threat
hides the moon behind sheets of grey
a silhouette cast unto the dark
an abomination to the light
a beast of man stalks
with dreaded hunger
as the moon cowers in the sky
within the wind the cries of the damned
rustle like dried leaves on dead limbs
silent echoes carried through nothingness
relentless throughout the night
fearless in its course
compelled by instinct
necessity and desire
driven by the allure of the moon
