exposed
winter wind creeps in
freezing the skin
the snow falls in the wrong direction
horizontal...
blasting across exposed flesh
like sand and gravel
a bitterness that appears to strip...
the flesh from the fingertips
rose red welts on the face and hands
from the whipping winds
upon the skin
drawing tears
stinging the eyes
clotting the nose
pulling the breath out of my throat
alone i have trudged through the snow
frozen are my feet
for miles i have traveled to end up here
nowhere...
now here in the snow
i sit naked and alone
frozen and exposed
