    blood bleeds black

    blood bleeds black upon the page
    open wounds that spill my pain
    dried crusts of death
    of darkened red
    leaving behind mournful stains


    blood bleeds black within my brain
    flowing out through open veins
    the thoughts are bled
    within my head
    an onslaught i must sustain


    blood bleeds black inside my mouth
    iron, salt and the taste of doubt
    upon my tongue
    my pain undone
    a taste i could do without


    blood bleeds black across my heart
    flowing free within the dark
    the bloodstained breath
    within my chest
    breathing death on ancient scars


    blood bleeds black within my eyes
    lifeless tears that cannot hide
    they try to blend
    upon my skin
    leaving mournful stains behind

    I have an open wound for sucking in Gothic darkness, and this one got sucked into my soul: "blood bleeds black within my eyes lifeless tears that cannot hide they try to blend upon my skin leaving mournful stains behind" — the visual here is a beautiful mess of sadness and defeat. Bravo!!
