the means of the day (a true valentines poem)
chocholets and roses
diamonds and gold
greeting cards with messages
of love that grows
champagne and dinner
served by candlelight
in the finest of restaurants
on a special night
heart shaped pendants
hung from a chain
bracelets and earrings
bought from some place
red velvet boxes
with treasures inside
bought for the thought
with little in mind
ribbons and wrappings
flowers in vases
all of the things
that put smiles on faces
the idea of it all
of what can be bought
the means of the day
so many forgot
just taking the time
out of the day
a glace and a kiss
and the things that you say
holding of hands
a loving embrace
sharing a laugh
no matter the place
making plans without plans
with one mission in mind
just go where you go
and do what feels right
being together
and spending some time
away from it all
even just for a night
forgetting the world
and the distractions of life
remembering why
you are husband and wife
with no where to go
and nothing to do
just taking time
to say i love you...
