Path To Misery
There's so much in life I question ~
Why does it have to be so hard?
Filled with so much apprehension,
Too much confusion from the start.
We're brought into this life of wonder ~
So just, where do we go from here?
Wandering through days, I ponder,
On my life's journey through the years.
? ? ?
So many days have passed me by ~
Can't help but wonder where I've been?
The swiftly moving hands of time,
Have left me tired and cold within.
Nothing to show for the time I've spent ~
But, these black circles 'round my eyes.
Wondering where all the hours went?
Ticking away my so-called life.
? ? ?
Life, it comes at you hard and fast ~
And it’s easy to lose control.
Try to hold on and make it last,
And don’t ever give up your soul.
Some say it’s easier said then done ~
But really, what does it all mean?
When you’ve given all - to just get none,
Is life a nightmare or a dream?
? ? ?
There’s so much in life I question ~
Like really – What’s in it for me?
I’m at fifty years and countin’,
Along my path to misery.
I try to follow in his footsteps ~
But, it seems they’ve been washed away.
By raging rapids of reality,
So where does that leave me today?
