    Sometimes things aren't always what they seem . . .

    It May All Be A Dream

    What you think you see . . .
    May not always be there.
    Whether or not you believe,
    It happens everywhere!

    The shadows that you see ...
    Are just illusions of the mind.
    Just a space for You and Me,
    To seek and then to find!
    ~~~
    Through the shades of red ...
    If things are not what they seem.
    Just something in your head - It may all be a dream,
    It may all be a dream!!
    ~~~
    To find a reason to try ...
    A reason for persistence.
    You try to bend and pry,
    But, get only resistance!

    You stare into the sky ...
    Question all in existence.
    Hoping one day you'll find,
    The Answer in the distance!
    ~~~
    Through the shades of red ...
    If things are not what they seem.
    Just something in your head - It may all be a dream,
    It may all be a dream!!
    ~~~
    To die before you live ...
    To live before you die.
    Give what you've got to give,
    Before you run out of time!

    In quest of a solution ...
    to this broken rhyme.
    Amongst all the confusion,
    The truth shall arrive!
    ~~~
    Through the shades of red ...
    If things are not what they seem.

    I think we all one time or another second guess what we see maybe because we dont want it to be true or on the other hand maybe we do great poem my friend thank you for letting me read this Marie

    Marie - This one came to me in the middle of the night...I woke up from a dream, and wrote it down on a note pad I keep by my bed. Title and all. I went back to sleep and when I woke up the next morning and read what I wrote - I was shocked .. I've never changed a word .. Thanks again! :) Ken

    I love this one, knight! Great philosophical write, as well as great flow. The entire writing is great, but I would have to say my favorite is the 7th stanza, just makes way too much sense to me!

    Thx Artie - I should preface my comment with "I keep a pen and notepad next to my bed ... Anyway, One night I woke up and wrote this down from beginning to end - I went back to sleep and read it when I woke up - never changed a word of it. Hence the Title - It may all be a dream ....     Nice imagery and smooth rhythm throughout this poem.I like the lines:to die before you live and live before you die. I think that the question of whether or not we have lived a good life before we die is a matter of trying to be a good person and help others and to live the life that we choose.You have expressed your viewpoints nicely here and offered some interesting thoughts to meditate on.
