    Poem Commentary

    This is the 4th poem in a series dealing with depression ... This one expresses the Feelings of those left behind. =============================================== The 1st is Maybe Tomorrow, The 2nd is On The Cliff's Edge and the 3rd is In My Desperate Hour

    In A Blink Of An Eye

    A Silent Weep ~
    A Stifled Cry
    Swallowed Heartache
    A Single Sigh.
    No Time To Heed ~
    A Long Goodbye,
    Death Comes Swiftly,
    In A Blink Of An Eye.

    A Life Taken ~
     So Quick - So Fast
    One Symptom Known
    A Troubled Past.
    No Time To Love ~
    To Grow - To Share
    Just Suffering,
    In Painful Despair.

    How Can One Be ~
    So Lost In Self
    So Desolate,
    Without Farewell?
    To Leave Behind ~
    No Trail - No Clue. 
    And Nothing But,
    Sadness And Gloom.

    Asked The Question ~
    No Answer Found
    Just Emptiness,
    And Grief Surrounds.
    The Hearts Of Those ~
    You Left Behind.
    Death Comes Swiftly,
    In A Blink Of An Eye.

    sums up all the feelings that depression is and what it can lead to- to stop that "blink of an eye" is what we all must striuve for

    Thanks Franz for reading this series .. it really means a lot to me. Unfortunately, I believe we all have experienced this in our lives. Suicide is such a selfish act that is committed by cowards. It leaves those behind with so many questions, causing others unnecessary pain and anguish. Depression can be beat - we just need to fight it and not give in. Thanks again for taking the time to read this series Pal, Much Appreciated! :) Ken

    Thanks Angel, Suicide has got to be the worst.... It leaves the one's who are left behind, with so many unanswered questions and inflicts them with so much unnecessary pain. It's the most cowardess and selfish act that I know of. Thanks again for your wonderful comments! :) Ken
