The Monsters Of The Moat
These cold dark walls surround me,
Securing my mind and heart.
Locked away - I keep myself,
Protected from any harm.
This fortress I've created,
Is the Castle of my soul.
A place where I can hide from,
The Monsters of the Moat.
~~~~
Wading in sludge - they hunger,
For another taste of life.
Hiding within the darkness,
Somewhere deep inside my mind.
They'll feast upon the anguish,
If ever given the chance.
So here I must stay captive,
A prisoner of circumstance.
~~~~
Many of souls have fallen,
Attempting to cross the bridge.
None have ever gained access,
To this Knight that lies within.
They've always met the dragon,
Who would burn them to a crisp.
Or suffer the serpent's bite,
Who was hiding in the mist.
~~~~
So, if you feel you must try,
Take heed, these words I've spoken.
This journey is not for the meek,
It takes power and devotion.
To gain entrance you must possess,
strength and determination.
If not .. you will surely face,
Wrath and annihilation.
~~~~
You must prepare for battle,
To conquer the raging beasts.
To kill them is the only way,
To obtain the key they keep.
Only then may you enter,
Upon making a solemn oath.
But, If you fail to deliver,
~ You'll meet ~
The Monsters of the Moat!
