    open minded understanding (hippie girl)

     She grows her own veggie patch
    and works in it each day
    She keeps what she can eat
    then gives the rest away

    She doesn't have a big house
    or drive a big flash car
     doesn't have much money
    things are perfect the way they are

    She lays in a summer meadow
    sometimes hums a little tune
    When it times for nightfall
    she likes to gaze up at the moon

    She doesn't care about make up
    comfortable in her own skin
    There's no need for new clothes
    As long as she's wearing a grin

    Surrounded by friends that love her
    They give her freedom to be herself
    No need for brands or packaging
    or a label and a shelf

    Open minded understanding
    Can't change the earth in just a day
    But she spreads love and peace
    sends a little every way

    Dancing to the beat of her own drum
    Even when life can be demanding
    Let us join in her blessings
    open minded understanding

    Very nicely written. I especially liked the last line of the poem where you wrote "open minded understanding". The poem reminded me of the folks songs I loved in the 60's such artists as Peter, Paul, and Mary and Joni Mitchell. thanks for the read.
