ode to the oyster
Wet and slimeyI lift the hardness
wanting to get inside
pressed up against my mouth
like an explosion
I taste its salty slither
as it runs down my throat
Like an aphrodisiac
It leaves me gagging for more
'ode to the oyster'
ode to the oyster
Wet and slimeyPoetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.
Plato (BC 427-BC 347) Greek philosopher.
