In my day...

In my day we used to share in our community
we'd borrow cups of sugar and share cups of tea
In my day kids would play outside, skinned knees were a common thing
We would play out in winter, autumn, summer and spring
In my day if your telly broke you'd have to wait to get it fixed
We only had two channels but the variety of shows were mixed
In my day we were taught respect and manners were frequent too
Mother and Father would always tell us to remember our P's and Q's
In my day we wouldn't care about all the latest fashion or toys
we just cared about running free with other girls and boys
In my day we loved listening to the radio, records or cassettes
We would tape songs from the radio if they hadn't come out yet
In my day we had it all, even more than the kids have today
we didn't have alot but we really knew how to play!!!!
