Isle of Skye
Amethyst blankets of heatherbirch trees sway on a gentle breeze,
Thistles root through sullen stones
Summer annouced, by the return of midgies
Old fashioned charm, and characteristics
ancient ruins from ancestors afor
you'll be welcomed with open arms
you'll always find an open door
Dense greenery, olive to emerald
Here my heart lies in the highland
where pelting rain cleanses the hills
a toast to 'Skye my favourite island'
