On my knees
On my knees so scuffed and worn
I again bow before your name,
and ask you Lord to fill me up
and forgive me of my stains.
Make me without spot or wrinkle
cleanse me pure and bright,
and lead me on in your love
and bathe me in your light.
I am week and prone to fail
each day I look away,
help me to keep my eyes on you
that is where they should stay.
Not on things of this world
that darken up the mind,
judgment shouldn't be found
in me, it is a waste of time.
For I cannot be a voice
if I'm living in the dark,
Lord hold my hand to thee
least I come apart.
I again bow before your name,
and ask you Lord to fill me up
and forgive me of my stains.
Make me without spot or wrinkle
cleanse me pure and bright,
and lead me on in your love
and bathe me in your light.
I am week and prone to fail
each day I look away,
help me to keep my eyes on you
that is where they should stay.
Not on things of this world
that darken up the mind,
judgment shouldn't be found
in me, it is a waste of time.
For I cannot be a voice
if I'm living in the dark,
Lord hold my hand to thee
least I come apart.
