The Unknown Me
Words as empty as still air, tell me what’s to be
In my mind, my dear dark dread, tugs a string
The string ties to an end of a sense fog: my being
There’s an uncertain darkness beyond the fog
I must be careful, because there is nothing beyond the smog
My body urges, my mind longs, and my heart aches
The nights are dense, the days are long, and everything breaks
Nothing lasts, but the time is short, all too very short
I dance to a beat unknown to me, I cannot abort
Yet all is uncertain, all is unknown, everyone cries
Everything to believe in, everything stands, everything dies
What hope is there for a demon, war born and war beaten?
Fate has condemned, eternity enslaved, so sick and ill treated
Gore is his bath; blood is his drink, so I sing
Bring a man to his brink, and you shall see him sin
To the unknown future I walk, shadows surrounded
Into the further, into the future, I am bounded
As long as I breathe, as long as I walk, blood in my veins
In the darkness I stalk, in the moon I dance, I will remain.
