Fable of Dragon Fodder
There is a tale my friends, listen and hear
A twisting tale of death, adventure, and fear
A tale of blood, once as a river they flooded
A tale of bones, now long silent and blooded
There once was a man, young and merry was he
Strong and brave, he was meant to be free
He danced with his blade, bowing to none
Enjoying his life, enjoying life’s freedom
Then one day his merry was slaved
Taken away to work for his grave
Chained, he was bound, yet his heart was free
He knew pain like none other, always agony
Furiously he gave his time to think
Mentality brought to its open brink
Engulfed in reality, he was dismayed
His freedom was corrupted and betrayed
Days passed and then into weeks
Months flew by, loosing skills and feats
More men came, shackled and heart broken
Their time, their names, lost and taken
Dear dragon fodder drifted away and away
His life basically an extreme lie
The warning bells rang, something was a stir
Fire in the mountains and an angry roar
Other fled, but he had stayed his ground
Soldiers rushed forth and ran all around
A great dragon rushed forth from the peaks
Hungry after its winter, looking for what it eats
The human camp, delightfully around
Right planted in the dirt, prey surrounds
It felt the arrows bounce off its scales
Terrified cries as fire erupted, screams and wails
Armor became useless to the hungry flames
They always preached about the end of days
Men on fire flew from its storm
A hail of fire and flames fell among the forms
He picked up two fallen guards swords, head held high
Like a beacon to the gods, metal held to the sky
Catapults fired, the dragon was flung to the ground
And arose the great warrior, honor bound
He leapt onto the catapult, commanding fire!
Swords raised, his voice: aim higher aim higher!
Launching with a mighty cry which chilled blood
His eyes a wild emerald, ferocity of a flood
He landed upon its head, slashing eye to eye
Undead never sleep, demons never die
With a mighty roar which shook the land around
Buildings crumbled, towers fell crashing to the ground
He swung away, finding anything to hack
Scales we’re falling and time seemed to lapse
The sound died, the area was sacked
He stood triumphant upon the dragon’s scaled back
Survivors slowly came out, weapons at the ready
Mourn for the lose, one man too many
His name was long lost into the forever
His new name shall be Lord Dragon Fodder
