The price of survival
in this world, which we choose to thrivein this land, we fight to stay simply alive
yet, we are prisoner, to this world in which we live
for the price of survival, is to take not to give
here we stand, the mighty, the strong, the best
bred for centuries, with countless laid to rest
survival of the fittest, and we have proven true
yet in this world, the price might be too high for me and you
here we are now, adapted to the best and to the worst
the land of fire, the land of ice, of plenty, and of thirst
we demand perfection, to even dream of taming the seas
to the spaces beyond our own, we even now, aim to seize
but yet, questions have begun to open and appear
for this world we live on, are we, her children, too much to bear?
wheres the resolution, the solution to a greedy and demented people?
wheres the salvation, for the desire and the price of survival?
we all strive to live, and we all seak to be on the very tip top
we all want to move on, reguardless of who we may have to stop
we teach ourselves, the price is rarely, if ever, too, too high
wheres the limit, wheres the stop, if theres no longer a sky?
so i ask of you this, from one person to another
whats the price of survival? the sacrifice of someones life? mother? brother?
father? daughter? grandparent? whose to stay where we must end?
but the skies no longer the limit, but we must hault the desire to spend
we all seek happiness, we all seek a way to live
protect our own, the code thats long believed
is it our time, to finally open our eyes and simply understand?
That, in this world, we must give a helping hand
the end is not yet upon us, theres still time to change
the end is not yet here, we must reverse our consumer ways
the end has not yet happened, we might not have to regret
the end may not yet be here, but if we dont act, it may happen yet.
