SUCCESS?
April 29, 1988
People's lives are very busy;
And they never question why;
Yet they never cease to wonder,
At " how fast the time goes by."
Their goals are set before them,
By a world that sets the pace.
Too soon they're caught up in it,
Not knowing it is a race.
To have what others have,
Or to make for themselves a name;
So others will see they've made it,
It the name of this futile game.
They do what's necessary,
To get them to the top.
They think, "Now I'll be happy;"
But find that they are not.
They find they'll lie and cheat,
To keep their success and fame.
But someday they'll stop and wonder,
"What's happened to my good name?"
