MORE OF YOU AND LESS OF ME
Jan. 2000
This yearning; ---what could it be?
My soul crying out---to be bold and free?
No, I think not,--- for I've freedom and more.
To be less like me,--- and more like Thee, Lord?
Yes, that's the longing --that's deep inside,
Down in my heart--In Christ abide.
I want to lose me--Complete in His being.
Christ in me---All others seeing.
Where is my love ---for others showing?
I'm more lost in me ---than in Him Knowing.
Self is always---Having it's say;
I almost despair--having my way.
Christ, take control---Holy Spirit, be;
Full and complete---controlling me.
My will, I give up --- To you, I release;
To be like Christ, ---to have His peace;
This is my yearning,--My constant plea;
More of you,----And less of me.
