A DAUGHTER'S WISH
May 1987
How like my mother, I'd love to be;
So loving and kind and sweet.
Never saying an unkind word
About anyone she meets.
So gentle and loving everyday;
So patient and forgiving is she;
Never selfish, and always thoughtful;
A woman like this, let me be.
When in need of an encouraging word,
My mother is always there;
Saying just what needs to be,
To erace all my doubts and fears.
I love this woman because she's my mother,
But as you can plainly see,
I love her more for the kind of person
She is and will always be.

I wrote this poem in honor of my mother for Mother's Day banquet. How glad I am that I can say every word I wrote is true.
