KENTUCKY DERBY
May 6, 1989
From men's own lips,
Their very life depends,
On whether their horse,
Loses or wins.
They train their horse,
From the day it's a foal;
To win this race,
Is their goal.
In one short race,
Their future relies.
But what if this horse,
Loses or dies.
This I find,
Hard to understand;
Men trusting their lives,
To horse or man.
