A SPECIAL MOTHER
April 30, 1988
On this festive night, we all praise our mothers.
We tell how we love them more than others.
Yet on this night, I want it know,
I honor a mother who's not my own.
This one is the mother of one I love dearly.
She's loving and kind, you can see quite clearly.
A better mother can not be found,
So don't even bother to look around.
I've prayed many times for God to send her,
For my son before I met her.
Now here she is, joined with my son,
And as God planned, they are one.
Next came little Carey, my own grand daughter.
How God has blessed her with such a good mother.
She's patient and wise and gives her best,
And as a good mother she passes the test.
For many years, I wanted a daughter,
Now, by God's grace, I finally got her.
A better daughter, I couldn't have raised.
And for this my God will always be praised.
