GRANDMA NICHOLS
In my mind, I see a clear picture;
A woman of laughter and smiles.
She loved life more than anyone,
And made life for others worth while.
I remember her always busy;
Her work was never done.
Yet, she would take some time for me,
And made every minute fun.
She spent her time in the kitchen
Whipping up good things to eat.
Grandma made sure when we went looking,
We always found a treat.
Sometimes, even yet, I find I miss her,
Though many years have passed.
I didn't know that day I left her;
That it would be our last.
I've often wished there had been more time,
So my family could have known her.
My husband, my sons, these that I love,
I know they would adore her.
