FAITHFUL LIGHTHOUSE
June 28, 2009
Fishing wharf, strewn with net;
Shrimp boats ready...sails all set;
Casting out in dark of night;
Looking forward dawns new light.
Sunrise bright, a yellow hue;
Rays of light, shining through;
Painted sky an azure blue;
Omen of fair wheather due.
Later on, dark clouds in West;
Head for home while it is best;
Winds begin to rip at sail;
Turning to a proper gale.
Darkness fills the sky with fright;
Sheets of rain to hinder sight;
Lightning flashing...thunder crashing;
Giant waves...shrimp boats thrashing.
Jagged rocks... a coral bed;
Footstool for a lighthouse stead;
Faithful light... ever searching;
Warning all...danger lurking.
Captain and crew...serching sky;
Blinking light, they soon espy;
Shrimpers veer from dreaded end;
Faithful Lighthouse! Faithful Friend!
