Masquerade
I'm a beast meticulously disguised as a woman
I am the Jack of all trades
Alluring in many ways
Evidence of destruction without a trace
When you see me coming you'll think nothing of it
I’m a beast meticulously disguised as a woman
Wearing a lion's mane
Society beckoning to be tamed
I shall be and always remain
A threat
As potent as poison
As silent as cotton absorbing water
An explosion but as calm as death
I am still
Like the middle of the night
I can yield perfect minds to utter confusion
Frame your reality to resemble something of an abstract allusion
Literally take your breath away
You won't hear me
You won’t see me
But when you feel me
You should fear me
I will be something like the pavement cracking
Beneath your feet
I will shake your body harder than a finely tuned acoustic pulse
With no rhythm as warning
It'll only happen
As slowly as the forming of the earth
As abrasive as the Mesozoic
But as inevitable as breathing
Maybe at first
It'll wave by as nothing
Advisory: get a clue and take off running
Because I’m a beast meticulously disguised as a woman
Calamity is my mind running and wearing out the pavement
I am ready to annihilate, pacing my attack,
Awaiting my reign,
Dawning on the edge of glory
Beautiful as a flame
But as painful as the burn,
Appetizing as sweets
That makes your stomach turn
As intimate as lovers
Without ever touching
Painting pictures, ripping it apart, rearranging art to fit like puzzles,
I promise I will be
The surprise,
The shock,
The wonder,
The amazement,
The awe in every color
So even if you never see me
Please believe me
I'm a beast meticulously disguised as a woman
