Aaron. . . In the Lions Den
Yesterday I saw my boyfriend crying
I tried to reach out and touch his face so that I could wipe his tears away
But he just pushed away my hands
I believe it was the sympathy that he couldn’t stand
With his gestures he wanted to show me that he was a man
But broken was he
Those muscles didn’t say man,
And neither did his mustache
Because there sitting in the bed in front of me was a little boy
A shattered boy
Eager to test out his wings
And fly…
To soar…
And demand the sky to obey
Command the earth to behave
He just has to figure out how to get the world off of his shoulders
The weight of it, I feel may be breaking him
Shaking him
Quaking him
Taking him to a place of pain, from which there is no escape
No return
No cape from superman to save this lost man
With my mind I want to whisper to him
you are David in the Lion’ Den
With the presence of God you can do anything
Hush lil babe and be free
