Like a Virgin
I want to remember tonight
…Forever…
Tonight I owned my own life
I took it back when just a short while ago it was so out of reach
The whole entire world around me was spinning
Further and further over the edge
While I dwelled in perfect peace
So calm,
I dreamed about dreaming
And in the most daring of seconds
I came into my womanhood
Tonight I was no longer the girl who said
And wished,
And dreamed…
I was the woman, who did,
And committed,
And conquered…
It was all right there in front of me
I was at my true test
And after seven years of failing…
I had finally won
My victory for the first time felt so free and pure
I walk the streets of the world now naked in every way,
And there isn’t a blemish that bothers me
