Love and Allah
How did things reach so far to the bottom?
Words of hatred living on the tips of our tongues as if they belonged there.
When I said I loved you,
That was never a lie
My only fabrication was in believing you when you said you loved me back
You used your body to create warfare on mine
And even now all that I can sit and wonder, is why?
What about my love warrants being humiliated, disrespected, and... dehumanized just because you felt like it?
In my eyes you were flawless
The most beautiful thing I had ever seen
Dark chocolate skin
Smooth like melon drew me in
And from captivation alone,
I was yours
Prepared in every way to love you, to make a home for you
So much so, that I was unwilling to provide that for anyone else
That was the essence and beauty of my love
Now you should ask yourself, what can extinguish the fire of my rage?
That I don't beat the hell out of you just because it was a thought
Make out of you the remains of yesterday
Allah is gracious, and not even he would hold me accountable for the fury that wages within me
He saw what you did
How you so blatantly mistreated me
And no vengeance is greater than knowing that your selfish, heartless, actions are recorded in his book
And in the final hour
You shall be judged for your transgressions
Words of hatred living on the tips of our tongues as if they belonged there.
When I said I loved you,
That was never a lie
My only fabrication was in believing you when you said you loved me back
